V2X xApp

Overview

 The V2X xApp developed by VelinkX Ltd. is a next-generation solution designed to optimize  vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication using 5G and Open RAN frameworks. 

  • This  application provides advanced capabilities for efficient resource allocation and seamless  integration of various V2X communication modes.
  • By leveraging AI-based algorithm and  flexible network architecture, the V2X xApp enhances safety, and connectivity for autonomous  and connected vehicles. 
  • Leveraging meta-learning and deep reinforcement learning (DRL), our  V2X xApp is the first of its kind to generalize across varying wireless scenarios, delivering  optimal resource allocation, reduced latency, and enhanced reliability. This pioneering  approach ensures robust and adaptive communication performance in both urban and rural  environments. 

Key Features

The V2X xApp supports three distinct modes for vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication:

  •  Dedicated Mode:  Allocates exclusive resources to each V2V link, ensuring reducing interference and high reliability. 
  • Reuse Mode:  Optimizes spectrum efficiency by allowing multiple V2V links to share the  same resources while maintaining interference management. 
  •  Cellular Mode:  Relies on the cellular network for V2V communication . 

Dynamic Resource Allocation

  •  The xApp dynamically allocates resources to V2V links based on real-time network conditions,  vehicle density, and communication mode. 
  • Our solution uses meta-learning to quickly adapt to  unseen wireless conditions and DRL to iteratively improve resource allocation strategies.
  • Using AI-based  scheduling algorithms, the V2X xApp prioritizes critical messages (e.g., safety alerts) over nonurgent data, ensuring that time-sensitive information is delivered promptly.  
  • The application  meets the strict requirements of ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC), making it  ideal for mission-critical V2X use cases such as collision avoidance and cooperative driving.
  •  Designed for high-density vehicular networks, the xApp ensures robust performance even in  urban areas with high V2I and V2V communication demands.
